Dedham and Manningtree – John Constable Walk (Booking Required)

As a celebration of 250 years since the birth of the painter John Constable, this walk takes in some of the areas that inspired his paintings. Starting at Manningtree, we head towards Lawford and pick up the Essex Way. From there we move to the pretty village of Dedham, where the church was a focal point for many of Constables paintings.   Following the River Stour we will visit the National Trust’s Flatford Mill, scene of the famous ‘Hay Wain’ painting.  The walk allows excellent views of the Stour Valley and other areas that inspired his paintings.

Please bring food for a lunch stop.  There will be an optional pub visit at the end, either at the Manningtree station or back in the town.
