Colchester to Alresford via Wivenhoe

Starting from Colchester Railway Station, this walk follows the scenic Wivenhoe Trail along the River Colne.

We pass through Wivenhoe, a charming former fishing village, with a stop for lunch by the water. The route then heads inland, offering open views across the Colne Valley, before finishing at Alresford.

There are trains and buses back to the start from Arlesford as well as a pub.

The walk will take around 4 hours and we will be walking at a moderate pace.

Bring a picnic.  Toilets available in Wivenhoe as well as coffee shops.
