Chelmsford to Hatfield Peverel along the River Chelmer

Starting at Chelmsford Railway Station we follow the course of the Chelmer to Hatfield Peverel Station.  We start walking out of the city and along this scenic river route as it meanders via a series of locks.

Later, we break off the river path at Paper Mill Lock and head to Hatfield Peverel via World's End Cottage and Smuggler's Barn. Finishing at Hatfield Peverel station for transport routes and maybe pubs.

Bring a picnic and good boots.
